- The collection contributes to Eatonville's 125th anniversary Founder's Day celebration. The Historic Town of Eatonville, the oldest black municipality in America, is located in Orange County, Florida. Eatonville has continued to be governed and operated by persons of African American descent from 1887 to present. See the poster.
- The Carol Mundy Collection partners with the UCF African American Studies program to offer research opportunities to students participating in Honors in the Major. See the slideshow presentation.

Carol E. Mundy African American Cultural and Diasporic Research Center dedication ceremony
The UCF African American Studies Program presented a dedication ceremony for the center on December 11, 2009 in honor of Carol Mundy. The event was hosted by the Burnett Honors College and featured a reception sponsored by Associate Dean Terry Frederick of the College of Arts and Humanities. Speakers included Provost Terry Hickey and representatives from the library, the college, and Carol's research team. UCF Music professor Per Danielsson provided music for the reception.
